On the search for sales jobs in Dallas? New data shows Dallas Fort Worth's job market is the best in the country. Healthcare and hospitals have the most employees of the largest employers in Dallas (medical device or pharmaceutical sales jobs anyone?) with airlines, aviation and aerospace following as a close second. The Dallas business climate is broadly diverse, with technological industries in the lead. Major Dallas industries include defence, financial services, information technology and data, semiconductors, life sciences, transportation, telecommunications and processing. This counts for much of the recent growth in Dallas's job market, with giants like Lockheed-Martin, L3 Technologies, and Raytheon leading the pack. According to the Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce, the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex holds about 43 percent of the state's high-tech workers. Additionally, 13 privately-held companies with at least $1 billion in annual revenues are headquartered in the area. Among the United States' largest employment centers for technology, Dallas is sometimes called the "Silicon Prairie." It's also known as a center for telecommunications manufacturing employment. Tourism and real estate are also major industry sectors in DFW.

Big D has shown double digit percentage job growth since 2012 in almost every major economic sector. Affordable housing, low taxes and cultural amenities offer great value for the city. It's the third largest city in Texas and ninth largest in the country - proof by the sheer number of people living there that Dallas has a lot of big fans. The city is spread out over 343 square miles which, to put that in perspective, New York City is just 34 miles, so be prepared to do some driving. Because the city is so large, workers often have more of a commute time than most, but the good news is, the city is ranked 28th for cities in America with the most traffic. If you'd rather not drive in the commute traffic The DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) system offers 72 miles of light rail and 120 different bus routes for you to sit back, relax and read a book during your commute. There are many different nice neighbourhoods with a median home value of $227,395. With Dallas gaining in popularity, home values have increases by 12.3% in the last year. If you don't plan to buy just yet, renting a one-bedroom apartment will run you roughly $1,241 a month and a two-bedroom about $1,435.

To get out and meet new people and build your job search network, there are many things you can do in Dallas. If you enjoy spending time outdoors the weather in Dallas will make this easy and enjoyable. There are plenty of green spaces like Klyde Warren Park where you can sit outside and read a book, grab some food from one of the several food trucks lines up on the street or take a yoga, dance or workout class there. Across the street is the Dallas Museum of Art which offers free admission allowing you to wander the halls as you please. White Rock Lake is extremely popular for bikers, runners and those who just want to have a picnic at the park. Whatever your activity preference, get out there and network while you enjoy this great city.
